Things I’m Learning

  • Don’t heat or froth milk of any kind in a mug. It will explode. Use one of those little metal jugs.
  • (Less learned. More realization). I think God allowed me to be banned me from Tinder because I get distracted by boys and don’t read my bible as much.
  • Editting is an art form. I’m learning this as I try to edit my podcast.
  • Did you know people at banks have to deal with a lot of people’s emotions? I didn’t know that. I thought they were just buried under paperwork all day but as it turns out they are often the ones who have to help people when they are going through crises like a divorce or bankruptcy or a death. Or when an advisor has to look at your bank account they will see where your spending your money and if you’re spending recklessly, people get kinda defensive (not that the advisor is being judgemental or anything but they have to deal with the facts). People are funny about their money. Anyway, I learned that bank people’s jobs are far more interesting than I thought.
  • Did you know “LSAT” is pronounced, “Elle sat.” Not “L-S-A-T.” If you say it like that, the library lady will look up, “LSD” on the computer and take you to the health section. FYI.
  • If I wear contacts to school, kids are nicer to me. Contacts = respect.
  • I learned something about the difference between espresso coffee beans and regular coffee beans but I forgot it.
  • SOAP
    • “S” = Scripture.1st Thessalonians 5:23- 24, “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.”
    • “O” = Observation. I’m always scared of God’s sanctification because it feels like it always involves trials or difficulty. I struggle to trust Him because I think He’s going to hurt me. But this scripture describes God as the God of peace. Peace = not an anxious heart or uneasy conscious. I can trust a God who desires peace between us (even if there’s conflict involved in getting us there).
    • “A” = Application.  I choose to obey God’s commands not because of obligation but because I want a peaceful heart and an easy conscious. There are things I need to stop doing and things I need to start doing.
    • “P” = Prayer. *Spoken privately.

NOTE TO SELF:

  • Write about these topics:
    • Lists of people I admire and why.
    • List of who I’d like to be in the future.
    • List of what I dream for Regina or Canada.
    • List of why it’s good to be single.
    • List of why it’s good to be married.
    • (Then evaluate both for pros and cons).
    • Tell a good bible story but with your own flair and style.
